Dr. Vijetha Ponnam holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering, along with a Master of
Technology and a Bachelor of Technology in the same field. She previously served as an
Associate Professor and Associate Dean, where she built over 15 years of experience in
academic leadership, curriculum development, and safety committee coordination.
She currently serves as a Technical Officer at the ARC Research Hub for Advanced
Manufacturing with 2D Materials (AM2D). Her research focuses on material flow analysis
(MFA) and the sustainable supply chain of critical minerals, such as natural and synthetic
graphite. Dr. Ponnam has successfully directed government-funded projects totaling ₹72
lakhs, specializing in advanced materials and environmental sustainability. Her prolific
research portfolio includes 60 international journal papers and 42 conference presentations,
earning her prestigious honors such as the Gannett Memorial Award. Her research interests
include waste-to-value processes, biochar production, and sustainable environmental
pollution control solutions. A dedicated mentor, she has guided over 20 Bachelor’s and
Master’s projects and supervised Ph.D. students in advanced methodologies.
