Devarani Theenathayalan

PhD Candidate | Monash University

Devarani holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Lady Doak College (2018) and a master’s degree in chemistry from Loyola College (2021), both in India. Prior to joining NSEL in February 2024, she worked as a project associate at the battery research lab of Hindustan Petroleum Green R&D Centre, where she focused on developing high-voltage vanadium-based cathodes for sodium-ion batteries. Currently, her research at centers on improving the performance and stability of aqueous zinc–manganese dioxide (Zn–MnO₂) batteries. Her broader research interests include electrode surface engineering, electrolyte optimization, and sustainable materials for next-generation energy storage systems.
