Precision prototyping
ADVANCED FUNCTIONAL PRINTER
The Advanced Functional Printer Facility (AFPF) is Australia’s first fully integrated small-scale and agile prototyping facility for printing.
Not just any printer
The Challenger 650 (from NSM) is an ultra-precision and multi-functional printing and coating system.
Housed within Monash University’s Faculty of Engineering the Facility is an Australian-first for developing printed electronics and printed functional devices.
Its unique register precision allows the printing of multilayers on flexible and rigid substrates with the highest accuracy and allows for the design of complex structures for use in R&D, pilot, and production applications in a wide range of industries.
Features
- Variety of printing modules
- Highly accurate positioning accuracy (10 μm)
- Printing and coating on flexible and rigid substrates
- Integrated air bearing guide that allows vibration-free movement of the substrate carriage
- Individually programmable printing and coating speed at each station
- Programmable drying process
- Optical alignment system with measuring software
